CASE STUDIES / CACHE CREEK CASINO
The Project...
Cache Creek Casino Resort is a busy Native American casino open 24/7 offering a Las Vegas style gaming experience. Among the resort's premiere attractions, the entertainment lounge needed a dramatic update to enhance the casino's allure. Architects designed three visually compelling extravaganzas for the main stage, cashier cage, and bar that complement the lounge's new high performance sound system and multiple projection screens.
The Challenges and Solutions...
The job had to be built and installed within weeks. To meet this deadline and ensure smooth installation, the entire design/build effort was meticulously fitted as a kit that could be broken down and then easily reassembled on site. Móz supplied a field supervisor to orchestrate every aspect of the project: from the complex technical demands of the assorted canopies' tapering compound curves-the oval insets slanted at counter angles to the exterior ovals-to collaborating with the many installers setting up lighting, electrical wiring and flooring.
The fabricated Plexiglas sections called for working with non-Móz materials, other vendors and extra subcontractors therefore increasing project management considerations. Móz's highly coordinated approach and pre-planning enabled easy transport of the 15-foot canopies to the field and their precise mounting at 20 feet above the floor.
The Results...
Exceeding expectations, the impressive entertainment lounge creates a jewel-like hub for the casino that draws visitors with the promise of an exciting sensory experience. On the stage, two sets of three tapering oval canopies seem to orbit the two dazzling columns from which they project. Variations on a theme, four illuminated canopies suspend from the ceiling high above the bar and sculpting the vast space with light.
Turning from the celestial to the oceanic, the cashier cage's shimmering overhead canopy waves as if moved by an underwater current. The general contractors credit Móz's early use of models for establishing efficiency and completing all engineering work ahead of time.
