CASE STUDIES / ASPECT COMMUNICATIONS
The Project...
Aspect Communications provides services that enable businesses to optimize customer communications and information. They wanted their architects to create a corporate environment that mirrored their identity as suppliers of fluid and dynamic business interactions. The project required a corporate briefing center that attracted employees and visitors, a modern yet comfortable corporate cafeteria, and a commanding office for the CEO that hit an aesthetic high note. The architects' goal was to combine these diverse spaces into an overall design expressing a compelling and coherent brand image.
The Challenges and Solutions...
Since architectural drawings don't always tell the whole story, the challenge was to translate an inspired concept into a fully articulated design. Móz needed to resolve the technical hurdles presented by a curved interior juxtaposed to a rectangular building. This quandary was most complex for the corporate briefing center's suspended circular ceilings which spirals down dramatically along angled corridor walls. Móz built templates to understand the drawings spatially and highlight their engineering, fabricating and installation implications. The models also helped anticipate difficulties and address field conditions early.
The Results...
The corporate briefing center is a welcoming area that draws people in like a force of nature. Integrating a signage element at one end of the center's entrance canopy uses environmental graphics to bring traffic through the workplace. Móz project managers worked closely with everyone involved to streamline the entire process, from value engineering to navigating a highly integrated installation. Architects liked the freedom to focus on innovative concepts, materials and colors while leaving Móz to strategize the finer details. All parties relied on our solid design/build experience to bring a unique concept to life, thus serving their client's desires, budget and deadline.
